In February, a devastating earthquake has hit the region on the border between Turkey and Syria. Tens of thousands of people lost their lives and more than one hundred thousand were injured. 20 million people in the region are directly or indirectly affected by the earthquake. The suffering of the people and the scale of destruction is huge. Whole villages were destroyed, thousands and thousands of residents have lost their homes.
Since then, many international relief organisations have made a tremendous contribution by delivering relief supplies or deploying emergency personnel on the spot. Since the earthquake, the Austrian Red Cross has been working with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to expand relief efforts.
Labor Strauss has made a cash donation to the relief effort in order to make a small contribution to support those affected.
